Are you the kind of person that throws the pennies, dimes, and nickels in the bottom of your purse? I know I am and it dawns on me that there is too much when my shoulder begins to ache! Dumping the purse over on the kitchen table I am always surprised at what I find. Of course I find mints, empty paper wrappers, receipts, and all that loose change. The mints, wrappers, and receipts can just be tossed in the garbage but what do you do with all that change? Move it to a drawer in the kitchen, desk, or bath vanity?
I recently moved and discovered a Coca- Cola cooler filled with loose change and some bills and some Austrian Schillings!! I remembered that this container had started out in Atlanta before we moved to Vienna in 1995. It’s home was predominately in my sons bedroom as he was very good at emptying his pockets and throwing loose change on his dresser. Getting tired of cleaning up this mess I bought him the cooler to hold his change. Over the years it has collected change from many visitors and family members. It now resides in my latest condo in Atlanta, Ga. Since I have moved 3 times in the last 15 months every mover has commented on this container. It just keeps moving with us.
It is now time to move it on to some lucky person attending the Annual Getaway in October. I am not sure what all is in it or how much money it contains! But we will have some fun finding a new home for it. We will have a raffle to see who the lucky person is that provides a roof over the Coca-Cola cooler.
Do you have a container holding loose change?
I am asking anyone that has one of these collectors to haul it to the October gathering and help us gather our Change for Charity and join the Coke Cooler in the raffle.
Do you have an item or service to donate?
We will also be having our silent auction and will be looking for all those special items to be donated. Are you an Artist, Jewelry Maker, that can donate some of your work, or are you a Dance Instructor that could offer a couple of lessons? I am sure each of us has something to donate or a service to offer. With the internet there are many services that can be offered. Home decorating, photos to canvas, etc.
I am asking everyone to put on their thinking caps and come up with a different service or product for the Auction.
Who can be the most creative?
