Coming home can be exciting...reconnecting with old friends, family and familiar places and cultural practices. It can also be challenging.
When you have lived outside your home country, you see the world through different eyes.
You’ve experienced new perspectives, cultures, languages, foods, traveling and so much more! There can be challenges to this ‘reverse culture shock’...even homesickness for the country you lived in. FAUSA connections and friendships can help with this transition! You may already know several people from your old club who are members of FAUSA!
Upon joining FAUSA, you’ll receive a phone call from a fellow FAUSA member, touching base to check in with you and to answer your questions about FAUSA, its opportunities and activities.
What FAUSA Has To Offer
FAUSA has an ever-growing list of virtual activities, ranging from yoga to FAUSA in Motion, from bridge to Mah Jongg, from crafting to wine tasting. Do you like to read? We have several book groups? Watch films? We have a film group too! Don’t see an activity you’d like to participate in? Contact our Virtual Activities Coordinator to discuss starting a new group or for more information.
FAUSA has several active metropolitan groups who meet regularly, virtually and in person, for social and philanthropic gatherings. If you are in one of these areas, the membership vp will let that coordinator know, and she’ll reach out to you. We are always happy to support you in starting up your own local group!
