The Longest Walk-able Distance on Earth is the inspiration behind the 2026 Tour de FAUSA.

Making this challenge your New Year’s resolution turns a simple goal — moving more — into something meaningful and motivating.
Every step you take, whether walking, running, or rolling, moves you forward along this epic route and keeps your resolution alive long after January fades.
This extraordinary route follows an uninterrupted overland path from Agulhas, South Africa to Magadan, Russia. By carefully threading through borders and avoiding major bodies of water, it’s possible to “walk” the entire distance without ever needing to swim or sail.
Go at your own pace, fit it easily into your daily routine, and enjoy the encouragement and camaraderie of fellow FAUSA members along the way. No travel logistics. No pressure. Just steady movement and a shared sense of accomplishment.
Start the new year with purpose, curiosity, and connection — one step at a time.
How does it work?
Walk, run, swim, cycle, row, or whatever. You can enter your distances directly into your mission page or via your phone app. Your mileage will be added to the mileage of your team members. You will be able to see all the teams progress along the route.
Who can join?
Anyone who is a current member of FAUSA or a FAWCO Club, or a spouse or partner of a current member, and wants to make their workouts count. The distance you log for each workout will help to move you or your team along the route. It’s great motivation to get out and exercise each day.
When?
The journey begins February 1st . Each participant will be assigned to a team of fellow FAUSA or FAWCO members, because this distance is too great for any one person to complete in the time provided. Teams will have until October 31st to complete the journey.
Where?
You can work out anywhere you like. At home, at the gym, with a friend or partner. You can include your spouse in the Road Trip as well.
Why?
Here are some great reasons to get and stay active:
- Exercise reduces stress, anxiety, and depression while improving mood and self-esteem.
- Regular activity strengthens the heart, lungs, and muscles, reducing the risk of chronic diseases.
- Physical activity enhances stamina and reduces fatigue.
- Staying active helps maintain a healthy weight and boosts metabolism.
- Regular exercise can improve sleep quality and help you fall asleep faster.
- Weight-bearing exercises improve bone density and joint flexibility.
