Getaway Transportation Information

If you arrive at Montréal–Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL) and need to get to Hotel Place d'Armes, you’ve got several good options depending on your budget, time, and comfort preference. Here are the main ones 👇

Your main transport options from YUL → Hotel Place d’Armes

Method What to do / route Typical cost & travel time* Notes / Pros & Cons
Public transit: STM 747 Express Bus + Metro • Take the 747 bus from the airport (arrivals level) to either Lionel‑Groulx station or Berri‑UQAM station.

• From there, transfer to the metro (Orange Line) and ride to Place‑d’Armes station (closest station to the hotel).

≈ CA $11–12 for a 24-h pass (includes unlimited STM bus + metro)

~ 45–70 min total (bus + metro + walk)

Cheapest option; works 24/7. However, it involves a transfer and some walking from Place-d’Armes station to the hotel. Good if you have light luggage and don’t mind some walking.
Taxi (official airport-taxi) At arrivals floor, follow signs for taxi queue (official airport-authorized taxis) and give hotel address Fixed-rate ~  to downtown (including hotels)

CA $49.45 between 5 am and 11 pm.

CA $56.70 between 11 pm and 5 am.

Travel ~ 20–30 min (traffic dependent)

Direct and door-to-door. Good if you have luggage, arrive late, or want simplicity. Slightly more expensive than transit, but often worth it for convenience.
Rideshare (e.g. Uber / similar) Use the app; pick-up area is designated at the airport (check signage). Drop off at Hotel Place d’Armes. Typically similar to taxi — around CA $40–50 (depending on demand/traffic)

Travel ~ 25–35 min (traffic dependent)

Often convenient, maybe slightly cheaper than taxi — but watch for surge pricing or long waits if demand is high.
Pre-booked private shuttle / car service Arrange a private pick-up in advance. The driver meets you at the airport, takes you directly to the hotel. More expensive — often quoted at CA $140–220 (sedan) for private airport-downtown transfer depending on level of service.

Travel ~ 25–45 min

Best for travel with heavy luggage, groups, or if you want guaranteed reliable service — especially if you arrive late or early.

* CAD = Canadian dollars. Travel times depend on traffic and time of day.

🎯 What’s best depends on your needs

  • Cheap + flexible → Public transit (747 bus + metro). Great if traveling alone or light, with no heavy luggage.
  • Fast + easy + luggage-friendly → Taxi or rideshare (Uber) — especially if you arrive late or have a lot of bags.
  • Group / comfort / minimal hassle → Private shuttle or pre-booked car service may be worth the extra cost.

⚠️ A few useful tips & caveats

  • The hotel does not offer its own airport shuttle.
  • Tickets for the 747 bus are sold at kiosks in the international arrivals level.
  • Rideshare pickup zones at the airport can vary — for example, some services go to a parking area rather than right outside the terminal.
